Back2basics Achieves Success On All Fronts

Back2basics Achieves Success On All Fronts

Back2Basics designer defends World Champs! Editor DJ Sir-Vere sells out international tour! Back2Basics magazine hits readership record high!

After three years in the market Back2Basics cements itself as the credible, accountable urban brand and media destination. Latest Nielsen Media Readership figures reveal a Back2Basics readership steadily growing and now at 47,000 readers (Jan-Jun 2008).

This coupled with huge traffic numbers (200,000 page views per month) achieved online makes the Back2Basics brand the perfect vehicle to reach the typically difficult to engage urban youth audience.

WORLD CHAMP

Back2Basics has an unbeatable team behind it including the designer Elliott O'Donnell. Elliot aka Askew was part of the New Zealand graffiti crew TMD (The Most Dedicated), who triumphed at the World's Largest Graffiti competition at Splash Festival in Germany in August. Artists Askew, Pest5, Deus, Addict, Gary Grouch and Sirum (AUS) were defending their title as world champs which they won in 2006.

INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS

Back2Basics editor Phil Bell aka DJ Sir-Vere needs no introduction.

In case you've been hiding under a rock for the last decade, as well as editing Back2Basics magazine and website, he is also a TV presenter on C4 special features, has his own radio show on Mai FM and is an international hip hop DJ with numerous albums under his belt plus regular DJ spots in New Zealand and Australia.

Just back from a sell-out tour with his new album Major Flavours, he
is now launching into the planning for the spring issue of Back2Basics.

The upcoming issue of Back2Basics magazine is set to be huge with both local and international urban music features including New York State of Mind plus a piece on Christchurch, the urban music scene in the city and emerging new hip hop talent.

Often referred to as 'the urban music bible', Back2Basics magazine serves up the best in local and international hip hop and urban music features plus an extensive graf art gallery, music and entertainment reviews, B-Boy and much more.

The website gives our urban youth community a point of contact on a daily basis, where they can engage with the forums, read news updates, enter competitions, read DJ Sir-Vere's blog and download their favourite tunes and ringtones.

Back2Basics online and in print, the only place to truly engage the youth audience in the most credible way possible.
