The Search for the Frenchman's Grave - a talk by Norm Judd
Please join us for an exciting week of adventures in the Southern Ocean. To wet your appetite on Thursday night local adventurer Norm Judd will describe a series of expeditions to Campbell Island and his 18 years of research to search for the grave of a French sailor who died on the island in 1874 while there as part of a French Republican Navy expedition to witness the transit of Venus.

Robin Kewell Film Night - Journey to the Isles of Despair
The second film in our Robin Kewell series of short films and talks will be screened on the Top Floor of Lopdell House and features Journey to the Isles of Despair. The film documents Robin and his New Zealand wife Ruth's trip by yacht to one of the remotest places on the planet where many did not survive and man's occupation was brief and desperate, the Auckland Islands.
The evening will also include an exhibition of artist Sandra Morris' work produced on the trip.
