Join our overeducated free-market Casanova
(Billy T Award Nominee Arthur Meek) as he
charges through the pop-cultural slipstream to prove his
amorous point : that by taking him as her gentle knight
prior to the 2008 general election, Helen Clark - iconic
warrior princess - can herald a new golden age for New
Zealand culture and society. This anarchic and passionate
Powerpoint presentation is a sharp and incisive satire upon
politics, power and the hopes and dreams of a confused
generation.
First published as a scurrilous
booklet by the elusive Balclutha author Richard
Meros, On the Conditions… has been on
tour around New Zealand. It has been attended and praised by
Catherine Tizard (former Governor General), Judith
Tizard (Labour Cabinet member), Rodney Hide (ACT
Party leader),and Dr. Russel Norman (Green Party
Co-Leader) along with may other MPs and members of Helen's
press staff. As yet, Miss Clark has not attended. The show's
producers have received an early morning 'threat assessment'
phone call from the Parliamentary Police, and look forward
to touring the show up until the 2008 General Election, at
which point it becomes functionally obsolete.
