The Lonely Miaow

The Lonely Miaow

A collection of contemporary cat art, created and donated by over 25 artists help save strays
Brought to you with thanks to the generosity of our artists and sponsors

20 September – October 9 2008
Opening: Saturday 20th September 3pm.

Outerspace Gallery | Depot Artspace | 28 Clarence St | Devonport | Auckland

I have decided to create and curate for a cause. I will paint my adopted stray cats to raise desperately needed cash for the rescue of suffering stray and abandoned cats and kittens all over Auckland.

Thanks to my having spent the last three years working in the art world, I have a wealth of talented artist friends, both renown and emerging, who have generously joined me by creating and donating their own feline-focused works to the show.

It's rare that contemporary artists of such varied styles would come together to paint for such a cause and it will provide a unique experience in viewing. I aim to offer a premium collection of small scale contemporary work that will expose the soft warm side of so many of our natures....our love for our pets.

ALL the profits from this exhibition will go to 'The Lonley Miaow' an amazing non-profit organisation that is dedicated to the care of hundreds of stray cats rescued every day in the greater Auckland area.

Look them up for more info, www.lonelymiaow.co.nz and come check out the show.
