eDay live tally update

eDay live tally update

More than 200 tonnes of old computer equipment and mobile phones has already been handed over for recycling and disposal at eDay today.

The free drive-through event is being held in 32 centres across the country from 9am to 3pm today and in Hamilton from 9am to 3pm tomorrow (Sunday 5 October).

eDay gives households the chance to dispose of their old computer equipment and mobile phones quickly and in an environmentally-friendly way, and is aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of e-waste dumped in landfills.

As of 10am, the amount of e-waste already diverted from landfill is below.

“There is still time for households to drop off their old computer or mobile phones at eDay for safe recycling,” said Laurence Zwimpfer of the Computer Access NZ Trust, organisers of the event.
