New Board Member For Save The Children
John Allen, Chief Executive of New Zealand Post, has been appointed as a member of the Board of Save the Children New Zealand.
Mr Allen has held the position of Chief Executive of New Zealand Post since May 2003. He joined New Zealand Post in 1994 and held a number of senior management roles prior to his appointment as Chief Executive.
Before joining New Zealand Post he was partner at Rudd Watts & Stone law firm and was a visiting Lecturer in Law at Victoria University of Wellington (1995 & 2001).
Mr Allen brings strong business and management skills to Save the Children New Zealand’s Board, which is led by newly-appointed chairperson, Telstra Clear Chief Executive Dr Allan Freeth (announced in June this year).
Philip Abraham, Acting Executive Director of Save the Children New Zealand says: “It is with great pleasure that we welcome John Allen to Save the Children New Zealand’s Board. His wide ranging skills and experience in the commercial sector will bring valued expertise to this Non-Government Organisation.”
