Tractor Pilots wanted for Grand Prix Tractor Pulling
Growing fast in Europe, it's now New Zealand's turn to experience the adrenalin rush that is Weight Transfer Tractor Pulling. The latest addition to the popular motorsport of Tractor Pulling, classes under the NEW Farmstock category make this thrilling competition accessible to all.
Presented by The New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays and Tractorpull New Zealand, this latest addition to the Interbloc and The Barn Company National Tractor Pull competition marks the biggest change to the contest since it started almost 40 years ago.
Tractor Pull tests the ability of both vehicle and driver
to pull weight over a set distance.
Tractor Pull NZ
Spokesperson, Vaughan Coy explains the attraction of the
event "Nothing compares to the raw power of a pulling
tractor coming off the start line, its 100 metres of pure
adrenalin. It's an exhilarating event to both watch and
participate in."
New entrants are encouraged to lead the way, being a new class means there are no class champions, therefore everyone starts from the ground up. Equally, any tractor can become a champion; all it takes is a sturdy motor, winning attitude and a good grip on the steering wheel.
The organisers of the Tractor Pull event are convinced that even an old, neglected tractor can become a Weight Transfer Farm Stock victor; which is why they are demonstrating the refit of a dilapidated tractor at their information day. Interested parties are invited to attend the 'Fieldays Tractor Pull Information Day' on Friday, February 13th, from 12noon -8pm, held at Mystery Creek Events Centre 'Tractor Pull' garage. Visitors will see how easy it is to make a Farmstock tractor and compete in this first-rate competition.
The National Weight Transfer Tractor Pull final is held over the four days of the New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays at Mystery Creek from June 10-13, 2009. Future plans for the weight transfer class include tractor pulls throughout the country. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in New Zealand's newest and fastest growing form of motor sport.
