Top Marques Line Up for Top Gear Live Exhibition
The Top Gear Live
brand is proving its amazing pulling power with a line-up of
top marques signing to participate in the Top Gear Live
Exhibition to be held at Auckland’s ASB Showgrounds, 12th
– 15th February, 2009.
The Top Gear Live Exhibition is to be New Zealand’s premier showcase of autos including luxury and high performance vehicles, running alongside the dramatic Top Gear Live stage show when it visits Auckland as part of its world tour. This event will bring motoring to life, offering visitors the opportunity to get a taste of the luxury and prestige of the world’s best automobile brands. Visitors will be able to visit the Exhibition only, or to see it as part of the total experience when they attend one of the 10 fabulous 75min shows running in the venue alongside.
Marques confirmed for the Exhibition include high end models from Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar, Range Rover, Renault, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, Bentley and Volvo.
Top Gear Live Show Manager Brett McLeod says that it is great to see that despite the global recession, distributors of luxury cars are still keen to get involved and showcase their cars to the Top Gear Live fans. “Top Gear Live is a phenomenon,” says Brett. “We’re seeing huge enthusiasm for anything bearing the Top Gear brand and we know this exhibition will become a must see for all car enthusiasts from throughout New Zealand,” he said.
Mercedes Benz New Zealand Marketing Manager Coby Duggan is delighted to be involved, “We’ll be having three models from our AMG range - the ML63, CLS63 and SL63 - which are the biggest and fastest models from our sports division,” he said. “Top Gear fans are very discerning and opinionated about their cars so it will be exciting to be able to show them to a public like this.”
Lee Small, General Manager from Independent Prestige has also confirmed there will be six premium cars on display. The Aston Martin DBS, DB9, and V8 Vantage Roadster; Bentley Continental Flying Spur, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, and the very limited edition Gallardo Superleggera – a lightweight supercar with only 200 in the world. “This will be a line-up of the best cars on sale in New Zealand,” he said, “and we’re delighted to have an exhibition of this quality to get alongside of.”
Another key feature of the Exhibition will be Stig’s Lair, a must for all Top Gear enthusiasts, with the latest and greatest racing consoles and trigger and track racing, giving enthusiasts a chance to really experience the thrill of the track. And they’ll also get a chance to challenge the rest of the Top Gear Live audience to get the best time on the New Zealand trigger raceway, making this show as interactive and vibrant as it can get.
Says Brett, “if you can’t make it to the Top Gear Live spectacular, this is your chance to see, talk and experience the finest cars in the market today and also get a taste of the class, speed and mayhem of the Top Gear Live Show,” he said.
