Mission Estate Clears Up Confusion About 2009 Concert
Mission Estate Concert Management would like to clear up any confusion in regards to the upcoming 2009 concert.
Event Director Garry Craft says, “There have been a handful of reports circulating inaccurate information about the Mission Concert. In particular, media reports relating to the non inclusion of additional international artists and slow ticket sales in a contracting economic market.
“In past concerts, with the exception of years 2004 and 2006 when the concert hosted festival style formats, we have always featured a special International artist supported by New Zealand talent” says Mr Craft.
Mr Craft says that more than $2.6 million dollars has been invested in entertainment this year to ensure that the Mission Concert carries on its tradition of presenting the best of international talent to concert attendees.
“Lionel Richie is an energetic, engaging performer and is extremely popular with music fans of all ages and we believe concert attendees are in for an amazing experience.
“As well as Lionel, we have a great line-up of New Zealand musical talent featuring a variety of Kiwi support acts”
Despite the current economic climate ticket sales for the 2009 Mission Estate Winery Concert have been strong, with more than 85% of the 25,000 tickets already sold.
“We have a very strong, loyal following of Mission Concert fans who return year after year, and even a challenging economic environment hasn’t been enough to keep them from coming back. There are still a limited number of tickets available, so music fans who don’t yet have tickets still have the opportunity to see one of the world’s best performers live in concert.”
The 2009 Mission Estate Winery Concert will be held on Saturday 28 February 2009. Final tickets are on sale now through the Mission Concert website www.missionconcert.co.nz; Ticketek outlets and The Napier Municipal Theatre.
