Headline act replaced by Rhombus
Rhombus is the replacement
headline act at Student City Day after Herbs pulled out due
to health issues.
Student City Day is an event open to all the community on 28 February 2009 and includes market stalls in The Square before the 3pm concert.
Student City coordinator Hannah Pratt says after some quick thinking she was able to secure Rhombus. “Herbs withdrawal came as a surprise but it’s health related so my thoughts are with the band.”
She said the event is held to celebrate the new tertiary year and students are hugely important to the local economy. “It’s free for all people to enjoy within the liquor ban area of the The Square’s events quadrant,” she said.
Other groups in the line up are The Thomas Oliver Band, Cornerstone Roots and Katchafire.
“We’re expecting this to be one of the biggest Student City events in town to date and it will attract visitors from other regions,” she said.
The concert will finish at 9pm to allow families to enjoy the concert but also for the crowds to move on and celebrate around the many hot spots in town hosting After Parties.
“I just urge people to remember the liquor ban in place,” she said.

Last year the event attracted over 2,500 Palmerston North residents.
