NZ Breakers Make History On Three Platforms

NZ Breakers Make Basketball History On Three Platforms – Te Reo, Maori Television And Our Website!

The NZ Breakers are making history this season with their first-ever spot in the Australian NBL semi-finals.

The New Zealanders will play Melbourne Tigers this week in a best of three series, and Maori Television will capture all the action free-to-air.

The games will be broadcast as follows:

Wednesday night’s big game will play live on our Te Reo Channel (Channel 59 on SKY and on Freeview Channel 24). It will be replayed on Maori Television with English commentary on Thursday February 26 at 8.00 PM (next day).

The Wednesday game will also stream live on the website www.maoritelevision.com

General Manager, Sales and Marketing Sonya Haggie says playing the game live on Te Reo is an opportunity to profile our language, the Te Reo channel and Freeview.

“Maori Television has been established to promote te reo Maori and this remains our priority. We see this game as an opportunity to profile both our language and the Te Reo channel, and we’re very happy to be able to showcase the Maori language in this way,” she says.

Viewers should stay tuned to Maori Television for the second game on Friday February 27 at 8.00 PM (replayed on Maori Television on Saturday February 28 at 2.00 PM).

If required, the deciding game will screen live on Maori Television on Sunday March 1 at 9.00 PM.
