Ride the bus and train for free to see The Who at North Harbour Stadium
Aucklanders travelling to see British rock legends The Who and American band Counting Crows at North Harbour Stadium this Saturday 21 March can catch a free ride to and from the concert with MAXX.
Doors are open from 5.00pm with the first band due on around 6.30pm and train passengers can connect with bus services to North Harbour Stadium from Britomart. Free train travel is available from all stations, on all lines to Britomart and commences at 4.30pm; it is available to all passengers showing a valid concert ticket.
Due to work being undertaken to upgrade the rail network on the Western line, buses will replace trains between Avondale and Waitakere on this date, however fans still ride for free on this leg of their journey on production of their concert ticket, but should allow a little extra time for travel.
Free bus travel will be available on Northern Express services that will depart at 10-minute intervals from a temporary stop on the corner of Customs St West and Queen Street, via all Northern Busway stations, from 4.30pm until 7.30pm. On arrival at Albany Park and Ride, passengers can transfer to a special shuttle service to the stadium.
After the show, special buses will travel directly from North Harbour Station to Britomart stopping at all Northern Busway stations en-route.
Passengers will need to show valid tickets for the performance, otherwise regular Northern Express fares, and a $1.00 fare for the shuttle service, will apply.
Following the concert onward travellers presenting their event tickets can connect to travel for free on Southern and Eastern line rail services from Britomart and on the Western line from Britomart to Avondale where rail bus replacement services will be operating on to Waitakere. Passengers are advised that there is a limited level of service provided after the concert, and should check carefully before travelling.
Passengers should allow plenty of time to get to the venue.
