Canterbury Film Society - International Guest!
Hi everyone - On Monday 23 March, we'll be screening THE GARDEN OF EARTHLY DELIGHTS, widely considered to be Lech Majewski's masterpiece.
Mr Majewski will be in attendance, and will stick around for a Q&A session after the film.
Since we have a guest, and limited time in the cinema, WE WILL AIM TO START THE FILM PROMPTLY AT 6:30PM. Please try not to be late.
Also, we will be in Cinema 1 next week instead of
the usual Cinema 2.
Garden of Earthly Delights screened
in Wellington a fortnight ago, and was reviewed in the

A BIT ABOUT THE FILM:
Lech Majewski | UK/Italy | 2004
| rated M
Majewski’s adaption of his own novel, Metaphysics, follows the doomed romance of art historian Claudine Spiteri and nautical engineer Chris Nightingale. The handheld camera captures the arresting beauty of Venice and refracts Claudine’s obsession with the mortal pleasures of Bosch’s painting, “The Garden of Earthly Delights”. A Venice film for the connoisseur: elegant, erotic and steeped in the mysterious beauty of the city. “A luminous, highly erotic treatise on art, love and death.”– Chicago Reader
