New Zealand Symphony Orchestra presents

NZSO eNOTES OFFER - $10.00* off A and B Reserve seats!

The 2009 NZSO Season begins with virtuouso US violinist Cho-Liang Lin performing with the Orchestra under the direction of our Music Director Pietari Inkinen.

After the phenomenal response to the performances of Mahler 3 in the Auckland Festival last week, you'll have the opportunity to experience the NZSO performing with one of the world's most admired soloists. After being discovered by the legendary Itzhak Perlman, Lin was invited to attend the Juilliard School in New York at the age of 15. Within two years he had won Madrid's prestigious Queen Sofia Violin Competition and his career was launched.

Now he returns to New Zealand to perform two stunning violin concertos: Prokofiev's Concerto No. 2 and the Violin Concerto written by the great American composer Samuel Barber, written into history for his sublime Adagio for Strings.

The performances are also an opportunity to be thrilled by the vast sounds of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition and the incomparable music of Richard Wagner's Tristan and Isolde in an arrangement by de Vlieger, famously recorded by the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic.

Don't miss this opportunity to hear Cho-Liang Lin and the NZSO perform together.
