Christchurch Casino Rally Team to tackle NZRC
Christchurch Casino Rally Team to tackle NZRC.
After three years of tackling the Mainland Rally series and rally Xtreme series, Matt Jansen and the Christchurch Casino Rally Team are making the step up to the Vantage Aluminium Joinery New Zealand Rally Championship.
The team are not taking the new challenge lightly, building a brand new Christchurch Casino Subaru Impreza for the season. The car, which was built by both Possum Bourne Motorsport and Jansen’s own business, Pmtmotorsport.
In preparation for the upcoming season which starts with Rally Hawkes Bay on April 4-5, The Christchurch Casino Rally Team have been testing with former WRC driver Alister McRae to fine tune both the chassis and suspension set-up. “We made a lot of progress and some great developments with the car. Now I am really looking forward to working with the Christchurch Casino Rally Team for the Vantage Aluminium Joinery New Zealand Rally Championship.”
Another change within the team for 2009 see’s Huntly’s Jason Farmer calling the notes. Last year, Farmer guided Andre Meier to the NZRC Rookie title and the Christchurch Casino Rally Team hope that they can achieve the same result this year and also run inside the top 8 overall.
The team’s 2009 campaign, which consists of the NZRC and possibly the Pirelli Star Driver finals in China, would not be possible without the support of their sponsors, Christchurch Casino, Mitech Welders, Pmtmotorsport, HGM Construction, Proflex Suspension, Straight Shipping and Dunlop Tyres.
