SKYCITY To Sponsor V8 Supercars At The Hamilton 400

SKYCITY is proud to announce its sponsorship of one of this year’s most eagerly anticipated sporting events in New Zealand, the V8 Supercars at the Hamilton 400 which takes place from the 17-19 April.

This will be the second year that Hamilton has hosted New Zealand’s sole round of the V8 Supercar Series and a continuation of SKYCITY’s involvement with the event over the last eight years.. The Hamilton 400 is a street race circuit rather than a purpose built race track. The circuit is 3.4km long and winds around the Franklin business district which is close to the SKYCITY Hamilton casino.

SKYCITY CEO Nigel Morrison is excited about supporting such a prominent sporting event:

To have SKYCITY involved in this series builds on our recent involvement with the New Zealand stage of the A1GP in Taupo plus it’s a good fit with our Hamilton casino in particular and promoting international tourism and great events in New Zealand.’’

The competition sees nineteen teams and thirty drivers race on 13 tracks and circuts around Australia, Bahrain and in Hamilton, New Zealand. Teams race to win points and move up the leaderboard in a bid to win the championship.

SKYCITY will be hosting drivers for public signing sessions in both their Auckland and Hamilton casinos. The signing session in Auckland will include 15 drivers and be held in the main Atrium of SKYCITY Auckland, on Wednesday 15 April from 5pm until 6pm. The Hamilton signing session will include the remaining 15 drivers and be held in the Atrium area outside of the Rebo restaurant on Thursday 16 April from 5 to 6pm.
