Punting Payback!

Punters are lining up to back Australia to avenge the shock World Cup final collapse to the Kiwis, storming into the Aussies at short odds on Centrebet!

Centrebet media chief Neil Evans said punters were happy to snap up the opening $1.27 quote, including one bet of $3,500.00, before a series of smaller bets on the Kiwis closed the head-to-head market fractionally!

“All the early money was for Australia, and I’m expecting plenty more at $1.30, although as is always the case in a Trans-Tasman rugby league stoush, there’ll be plenty that think New Zealand is over the odds!

And the Line favouring Country – which opened at + 4.5 – has already toppled down to + 2.5 after one Centrebet Sydney punter wagered $25,000.00 across two bets today on Country at $1.90 with the 4.5 start! Another Sydney punter also took Country at $1.90 with 3.5 start!

Evans said Country had also dominated early head-to-head betting, firming from $2.25 into $2.20 while early favourite City had eased from an opening $1.65 out to $1.67!
