Plunket kick off birthday celebrations
Media Release 7 May 2009 For Immediate Release
Plunket have kicked off their birthday celebrations!!!
This month Plunket celebrates 102 years of providing support and services to New Zealand families. Birthday celebrations have been kicked off this week with Allyson Gofton and The Great New Zealand Bake Off, in association with Plunket’s Cup Day.
“Having children means that Plunket has been a big part of my life. Partnering with Plunket for the launch of my new book Bake seemed like the perfect fit” says Allyson. “It’s been great to have the chance to tour around the country and meet men and women involved with Plunket in their local communities”
Cup Day is May 14th and celebrates the day that Plunket was founded (1907). It’s a day to get people together over a well deserved cuppa, have some fun and raise some money but best of all, help give children the best start in life.
Plunket are encouraging people throughout the country to celebrate their birthday by taking part in hosting a Cup Day event (such as a morning tea), for friends, family or workmates this May (May 14th is Plunket’s official birthday, but you can hold your event any time in May) and encourage everyone to bring along a gold coin donation (or more!) for Plunket.
And if you can’t host an event, you can help Plunket give New Zealand children the best start in life by donating your cuppa to Plunket! Text CUPPA to 2449 (texts cost $3).
Money raised through Cup Day events will help Plunket give children around New Zealand a better start in life through many community based services – including car seat rental schemes which provide parents with a variety of affordable, safe car seats for their children; and free parent education courses, which help parents understand how their child develops and learns.
