Robin Hood's Social Heroes Awards now calling for Nominations

Prime Minister John Key in conjunction with The Robin Hood Foundation is now looking to the find out which business minds lead the way when it comes to innovative thinking around social issues.

Businesses or organisations of any size who have created meaningful partnerships in the social sector should be nominated.

The Awards have acknowledged previous winners such as Vodafone for investing its time, people and funds in looking for better solutions in dealing with the hardest sector of troubled youth, and the New Zealand Air force have been previously awarded for their voluntary intervention with youth.

"The Robin Hood Social Heroes Awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the New Zealand businesses who give back to their communities, not only with time and money, but with great ideas and fresh approaches to social issues. We each have a role to play in strengthening our communities and I hope these awards help inspire others to make their contribution” said Prime Minister John Key.

The Foundation is keen to applaud businesses that see not just one currency of profit, but a currency also of reputation. The awards will be announced on July 24th 2009 at St Mathews Cathedral Auckland – with nominations closing May 24th 2009.
