Project KPH
fundraising kicks off in Canterbury to get kids to
Bathurst
Project KPH is kicking off its fundraising
efforts in Christchurch and Timaru with an entertaining
mediumship show that has been donated to the cause.
Money raised from the events will support Project KPH to take two Canterbury special needs children to Bathurst in October.
Sabrina Lawson from Christchurch and Logan Fynn from Timaru have been selected from 63 other children around New Zealand to travel to the event with Project KPH - a charitable trust which enables special needs children to experience the thrill of motorsport, without the fear of stigma or negative attention.
The children, accompanied by a parent, will go behind the scenes at Bathurst, meeting drivers, visiting pit areas and experiencing the racing up close and personal. The trip will include a visit with kiwi racing legend, Greg Murphy.
The team needs to raise approximately $7000 for the trip, with the children also undertaking their own fundraising efforts.
Clairvoyant Cheryl Robin Freeman has donated her time and services for three shows, two in Christchurch and one in Timaru to raise money for Project KPH.
Cheryl Robin Freeman is a successful international clairvoyant/clairaudient, stage and radio medium who has been working in the field for 32 years. She has a clientele stretching from New Zealand to Egypt to Hong Kong and has foreseen such major international events as the 9/11 tragedy and the backpacker's murders in New South Wales.
Cheryl is one of New Zealand's top stage artists, with a reputation for quality and accuracy of insights. Her show includes contacting loved ones that have passed.
Project KPH founder, Leah Evans, says she is blown away by Cheryl's generous donation of time to the Project KPH cause.
"Even if you don't quite believe, this will be an entertaining, intriguing and often moving show," says Leah.
"This will definitely be a night to remember, and guests will also be supporting local kids for a great cause."
The Sudima Hotel in Christchurch have also donated a venue for the Christchurch shows.
"We're desperately seeking a venue in Timaru so if anyone can help us out with that, we would love to from you," says Leah.
"The profits from the three shows are going to the Bathurst trip we would love to see as many people as possible there.
"This will be an absolute trip of a lifetime for these kids, which will make a huge impression on their lives. I hope the residents of Christchurch and Timaru will help us make that happen."
Tickets are $35 a head and can be purchased by contacting Leah Evans on 07 3484 048 or leah@projectkph.com. Each show will be limited to 100 people and runs for approximately two hours.
