Tonight: FLORAL AUCTION
Bodega is proud to be supporting young florist Caitlin from Flowers Manuela on Cuba St. Caitlin won a national florist's competition and is off to Canada to represent NZ at an international competition. Tonight, between 6-8pm, Caitlin will be making some of her award winning arrangements live on stage and then auctioning them off to fundraise for her trip. Come on down and you might just make off with some highest quality floral arrangements for a steal; while helping a young kiwi fulfil her dreams... quite a cause...
 
Friday 12th June: "ROCK STEADY & BEBOP"
We are again proud to be showcasing some of Welli's finest, young, 'not just rock' bands. With a line-up including experimental folk-rockers John The Baptist, jazz influenced 3 piece rock-youngsters The Stray Dogs and new found Indie exponents Cable Kidd. We won't take more than a gold coin off ya at the door so drop by and catch some of Welli's next big-name bands - before they're famous...
 
Saturday 13th June: Harbour City Electric and Olmecha Supreme - "IT'S RAINING FUNK"
Ooh; and just when we thought it couldn't get any better... Fresh from releasing their first ever EP, Harbour City Electric are ready and raring to play their heavy, funky-fresh, soul-filled, big band flavours. And joined by Captain Imon Starr and his merry-band of mayhem; Olmecha Supreme, delivering their own uniquely solid dub & electronica-infused rock grooves. $10 on the door from 9.30pm. Not to be missed; this lineup won't be repeated for some time...
 
Thursday 18th June: BLACK KEYS & BLUE NOTES: PART 2
And; the second installment of Bodega's traditional cabaret style show focusing on the Blues legends of old. Come down and experience the 'smoky', intimate, bourbon filled enviroment of a Chicago blues club. Featuring a solo performance by one of Wellington's best known blues guitarists Darren Watson and a solo lap-steel performance by Thomas Oliver of The Thomas Oliver Band.  A short and entertaining interlude will precede Al Campbell and his band The Mighty Ramble as they pay tribute to one of the true masters of the Blues; Muddy Waters and to close precedings an inspiring performance from The Charcoal White, led by last month's delta slide guitar hero Dan Green. A gold coin is all that's between you and entry. There's seating available and the heaters will be on. Doors at 8pm. Show starts at 8.30pm sharp(time on poster is wrong>)

- I was born in Covington Tennessee August 20 1942 and lived until 2008.
- In 1965 I play keyboards on my first session for Stax Records which yields the Otis Redding classic "Respect"
- In 1971 my smash hit "Theme from Shaft" made #1 in the charts. In 1972 the song won me an Academy Award making me the first African-American composer to receive this prize.
- In 2002 I was inducted into The Rock'n'Roll Hall Of Fame.
