ASB gets behind St John Appeal
St John is launching the “Flash a Light for St John Appeal”. St John community partner ASB is helping to raise funds for the charity, including providing opportunities for local communities to get involved with St John.
“The aim is to help build awareness of the broad range of community activities St John is involved in, while at the same time raising funds for St John, one of New Zealand’s best-loved charities, the largest provider of vital ambulance services and a significant provider of community services,” says Linley Wood, ASB’s Chief Community Partnership Officer.
St John Week runs from: 21 to 28 June 2009. The “Flash a Light for St John Appeal” asks the public to show their support for the real practical work carried out by St John ambulance officers, community programme staff and thousands of volunteers.
ASB is working together with St John to assist this annual appeal by:
· displaying St John Appeal fundraising boxes and posters in ASB branches nationwide
· distributing the St John Appeal envelope in ASB customer bank statements this week
· holding theme days where ASB staff will be working in their local communities to raise funds for St John.
St John and ASB celebrate the first anniversary of their community partnership this month, a relationship that is designed to support communities and help expand the delivery of St John services nationwide.
“ASB has always had a strong commitment to the local communities in which it operates. Our partnership with St John represents a great opportunity for St John and ASB staff to work together improving the lives of people all around the country,” says Ms Wood.
St John Marketing and Communications Director Brian Scott says: “It is fantastic to have the support of ASB to help increase awareness and raise much needed funds for our ambulance and community services. We hope New Zealanders will come on board and give generously.”
