IT’S IN THE BAG – Sunday July 5 at 7.00 PM
Pio Terei and Stacey Morrison team up to bring back this classic family entertainment show. This week: from Waikanae. Local contestants qualify with their general knowledge for a chance at the big question; the money or the bag?

MATARIKI HUNGA NUI (MATARIKI SPECIAL) – Sunday July 5 at 8.00 PM
Part Two of a two-part series. Some of this country’s leading musicians have joined forces with our most famous chef to celebrate Matariki with a spectacular concert and hangi feast, at Turangawaewae Marae. The first of a two-part series capturing that glittering event. Artists include Dave Dobbyn, Hinewehi Mohi, Whirimako Black, Boh Runga, Maisey Rika, and with food from international chef Peter Gordon.

IN THIS WORLD (SUNDAY FEATURE) (2002) – Sunday July 5 at 9.00 PM
Enayat and Jamal are Afghan refugees from a camp in Peshawar who are trying to escape to Great Britain, with the help of people smugglers. Their dangerous journey leads them along the ‘Silk Road’, through Pakistan, Iran and Turkey, towards London. A Bafta-winning film by Michael Winterbottom.

MAGIC (INTERNATIONAL DOCO) – Tuesday July 7 at 8.30 PM
A passionate account of a medicine man’s daily routine, throughout Israel’s paediatric wards. The children he treats are of all ethnicities, and large doses of humour is his favourite prescription, for speeding up healing and recovery.

KETE ARONUI (ARTS) – Tuesday July 7 at 9.30 PM
Art series that showcases talented New Zealand artists from a wide range of creative disciplines. Tonight: June Grant is a contemporary Maori artist, breast cancer survivor, and the winner of numerous business awards.

HYUNDAI CODE – Thursday July 9 at 8.30 PM
Jenny-May Coffin and the team are in the house with New Zealand’s award-winning sports programme, live from Maori Television’s Auckland studio. Check out the great guests, captivating korero and comical capers of ‘Brofessionals’ Matua Parkinson and Glen Osborne, and new presenter Ruben Wiki.

HOMAI TE PAKIPAKI – Friday July 10 at 8.30 PM, Saturday July 11 at 5.30 PM
A show with a style and flavour all its own, this live singing competition has grown a large and faithful following over the last two series, from the amazing talent that turns up to audition every week to the dedicated viewers that tune at home. Filmed in front of a studio audience at Maori Television’s Auckland base, performers travel with their supporters from all around the motu to be part of the fun, entertain the crowd – and have a crack at winning the hearts and text votes of the audience. The irrepressible, one and only Te Hamua Nikora is back as host, with side support coming this year from past HOMAI TE PAKIPAKI winners, who made their names in previous series of the hit show. Viewers’ votes will once again decide at the end of the night who will win the weekly prize of $1,000, plus the chance to compete in the grand final for $10,000.
