International Self Esteem Day

PRESS RELEASE
Friday 23rd June

International Self Esteem Day

24th June

Research indicates and attitude specialist Janice Davies passionately believes that low self-esteem is a key contributor to many of our social and educational problems.

Additionally in the present climate people are experiencing additional challenges with the economy and health threats.

Driven by her desire to make a difference, Davies, has created the annual international Self Esteem Day recently renamed Selfday, to be celebrated this month on June the 24th.

The charitable non-profit organization is dedicated to sharing resources and motivate action to help enhance human effectiveness and to build healthy self confidence

'Selfday,
aims not only to bring esteem awareness, but to jump start people into action, to take care and honor themselves. Job losses and scarcity, financial ruin, winter ills and doom and gloom, can have people negative and 'out of sorts'.

Everyone can learn to believe in themselves and especially in this climate remind  themselves they did not cause the recession even though they are experiencing it.  Unless one does, we function from a place of fear and scarcity which often manifests in the opposite of what most of us truly desire. Selfday aims to inspire the practice of self belief and confidence amongst New Zealanders and globally.

Davies has combined various techniques, gathering tips and ideas from over 20 years of working with groups and individuals teaching self empowerment.  Her work has taken her from Playcentre groups to corporates. The techniques and activities accumulated are available free on line, to assist, esteem building at work, home and in the community.

With a group of dynamic online businesses, committed to expanding the self nurture message, plus with the help of national media, Selfday is continuing to gain momentum and encourage awareness in New Zealand and globally.

Starting on Selfday is a course for Maori & unemployed at the Te Whangai Trust
Miranda's farm where they are teaching people skills to get jobs.
