MTV Hit The Road In The Name Of “Love”
MTV Hit The Road In The Name Of “Love”
MTV New Zealand’s August 2009 Programme Highlights
Rock Of Love Bus, Tool Academy, Blonde Charity Mafia And Snowjam 09!
AUCKLAND, Thursday 23 July – Twice unlucky in love, Poison front man Brett Michael’s main problem is how love would work while he’s on the road. MTV New Zealand exclusively shows the lengths he’ll go to in August!
Rock Of Love Bus, screening for the first time on New Zealand TV from August 31st at 8.30pm exclusive to MTV, the array of girls vying to be Brett’s “Rock of Love” hit the road as witness him in all his rock glory. Tour stop by tour stop, a girl (or girls) are eliminated until one girl has proved she can handle a relationship on the road… and truly be Brett’s “Rock of Love.”
We’ve all seen them – “alpha” male’s strutting around nightclubs, preening and posing while almost proclaiming they are god’s gift to womankind. Tool Academy, which screens for the first time on New Zealand television from August 11th at 5pm, puts them in their place by meeting a therapist and taking part in different tasks to not only make them a better person, but a better boyfriend also (yes… they have girlfriends, believe it or not…), with the added bonus of winning $100,000 USD. Who will become “Mr. Awesome” and who will realize hitting on their girlfriend’s girlfriend isn’t exactly acceptable behaviour?
Washington D.C socialites Katherine Kennedy, Krista Johnson and Sophie Pyle aspire to be at the top both socially and professionally. The third MTV New Zealand exclusive this month, Blonde Charity Mafia (playing from August 26th at 8:30pm) charts the threesome’s efforts to achieve this goal, be it throwing a hot-ticket charity event or going out to a D.C nightclub. They’re the talk of the town, but you’ll be talking about the drama’s stemming from their friendships, relationships and everything else that comes with being a socialite.
MTV Snowjam 09, screening August 15th at 5pm, gives live music lovers a chance to revolt against the concept of winter being a festival-free season. Tempting punters out into the crisp environment of Falls Creek, Victoria, musicians such as Cut Copy DJs play to a backdrop of the alpine scenery and side by side with world-class snowboarders, bringing to Australia what the South Island experienced for the past two years.
Ever gone out on a date and made yourself out to be something your not? Be very wary next time you think it’s a good idea, as Exposed sorts the genuine from the flat out fake with all new episodes screening weekdays at 4pm. One single interviewer questions two potential daters and asks them probing, personal questions. What the couple don’t know is that every answer provided is being filtered through lie detections software. Who will be exposed?
