FLIGHTS OF FANCY
Rosalind Atkinson and Leilani Isara

Opening Monday 3 August, then open daily Tuesday 4 August - Sunday 9 August, from 10.ooam - 4.00pm.

In Flights of Fancy, Massey Design School graduates Leilani Isara and Rosalind Atkinson present a collection of brand new works inspired by the words of childhood. Fairy tales and nonsense poetry come alive under a whimsical illustrative touch. Come and see a menagerie of flora and fauna imagined through contemporary drawings, watercolours, prints and sketches.

Both artists have based their works upon favourite childhood texts, reconsidered from a visual perspective. Leilani's works centre around the creatures of fairy stories and the meanings found within them, whilst Rosalind's are inspired by the absurd poetry of Lewis Carrol and Edward Lear. Exquisite images based on the Brothers Grimm, The Little Prince, Alice in Wonderland, The Owl and the Pussycat, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and more are all available to purchase.

The artists will be in the gallery all day Saturday and Sunday.
