Wine Weekend Tickets Close To Selling Out
Australians snap up weekend tickets •
Renowned Chef Al Brown promises to tantalise tastebuds with
Marlborough wine and food With three months still to go,
tickets to this year’s Marlborough Wine Weekend are racing
out the door and it appears Australians are some of the
greatest enthusiasts.
“A large percentage of the full weekend tickets have gone to Australians, who have been very keen to take part in the weekend. With Australia currently one of our largest export markets, this is great news for the Marlborough wine industry.” The three day Marlborough Wine Weekend will take place from October 30 through to November 1.
Wine Marlborough Marketing Manager Marcus Pickens says the majority of full weekend tickets have sold and individual events such as the Grand Tastings and the Sounds Sparkling Cruise are also sell outs. The highlight of the weekend will be the Gourmet Dinner, with renowned chef and television star Al Brown matching an array of Marlborough’s wine styles with gourmet food from the province in a one] of]a]kind degustation menu.
“Marlborough is certainly one of my favourite places in the whole country and the opportunity to come down and show off all the great food and wine in a setting like Timara Lodge will be a highlight of the year for me,” Mr Brown said this morning.
The five course meal will include among other tantalising morsels, Marlborough paua, salmon and wild boar. Each course will be matched with a Marlborough wine.
There are limited individual tickets left for the Twilight Garden Party, Gourmet Dinner and Sub Regional Journeys. On the latter participants will get a firsthand look at the differences that exist within the small region of Marlborough, visiting the three major valleys of Wairau, Awatere and Southern. All guests will get a chance to taste wines from each region under the stewardship of winemakers, a traditional long lunch will be served in one of Marlborough’s newest and most stunning vineyards.
Marcus Pickens says there will be an exceptional selection of Marlborough wine available to guests over the weekend. “We all know Marlborough makes the greatest Sauvignon Blanc in the world, but it also produces a number of other world class varieties that we will be showcasing at the event.”
Limited tickets are still available online via the Wine Marlborough website – www.marlboroughwineweekend.co.nz The Marlborough Wine Weekend will coincide with the release of many of the 2009 wines, which have already been touted as being of exceptional quality.
