Lopdell wins again !
Lopdell House Gallery is
delighted with a win at this years' Montana Book
Awards.
"Len Castle: Making the Molecules Dance (Lopdell House Gallery) is an especially superbly presented book in this rich category; the plates are the most visually impressive of all, capturing the extraordinary organic surrealism of the potter's work. The accompanying texts are useful for all those interested in the potter and his practice. This is a gorgeous book that wins contemplative admiration of the stunning work it contains. Category advisor Rodney Wilson notes; 'it uses the opportunity of illustration to reveal the influences and impacts on Castle's art in a way that commentary and text could not do. It is a flawless production in every respect and a book that owners will treasure."
Portage Ceramic Awards
2009
Reminder to all ceramic artists the deadline for the
Portage Ceramic Awards 2009 entries is Friday 14 August. The
organisers are looking for extraordinary and adventurous
works of ceramic art. The exhibition seeks to showcase the
work of exceptional ceramic artists. With this in mind the
organisers will attempt to show more than two pieces of work
from each chosen artist where space permits. Larger more
complex works are welcomed, as are smaller, utilitarian
works.
Entry forms can be downloaded from our website. If you need more information email info@lopdell.org.nz or phone 09 817 8087 x 201
