Auckland’s premier rugby league club teams have been competing for the Fox Memorial Shield since 1910. Tune in for delayed coverage each week as the battle for the title continues.

TSOTSI (SUNDAY FEATURE) (2005) – Sunday August 23 at 9.00 PM
Set amidst the sprawling Johannesburg township of Soweto, where survival is the primary objective. TSOTSI traces six days in the life of a ruthless young gang leader who ends up caring for a baby accidentally kidnapped during a car-jacking. A gritty portrait of an angry young man living in a state of extreme urban deprivation, featuring a distinctive soundtrack of Kaito music – the gangster music unique to that environment. Winner of audience awards at Toronto, Edinburgh and LA Film Festivals.

THE CHILDREN’S HOUSE (INTERNATIONAL DOCO) - Tuesday August 25 at 8.30 PM
An art exhibition with a difference. Adults who grew up in a Kibbutz come together, to express what life is like in that environment, through the medium of art.

KETE ARONUI – Tuesday August 25 at 9.30 PM
Art series which showcases talented New Zealand artists from a wide range of disciplines. Tonight: The storytelling and conservation work of Joe Harawira. This programme also documents his powerful return home from Waikato to Taiwhakaea in Whakatane.

HOMAI TE PAKIPAKI – Friday August 28 at 8.30 PM, repeats Saturday August 29 at 5.30 PM
A show with a style and flavour all its own, this live singing competition has grown a large and faithful following over the last two series, from the amazing talent that turns up to audition every week to the dedicated viewers that tune at home. Filmed in front of a studio audience at Maori Television’s Auckland base, performers travel with their supporters from all around the motu to be part of the fun, entertain the crowd – and have a crack at winning the hearts and text votes of the audience. The irrepressible, one and only Te Hamua Nikora is back as host, with side support coming this year from past HOMAI TE PAKIPAKI winners, who made their names in previous series of the hit show. Viewers’ votes will once again decide at the end of the night who will win the weekly prize of $1,000, plus the chance to compete in the grand final for $10,000.

RUBY AND QUENTIN (2003) – Saturday August 29 at 9.00 PM
French comedy. Unlikely prison mates Quentin and Ruby escape and go on the run. Quentin, a friendly but dim giant, only wants to start a new life and open a café. But Ruby has revenge and murder in mind. Unable to shake off his bumbling partner, Ruby is forced to bring along Quentin for the ride as he goes after former partners, avenges the death of the woman he loved and gets to the money first.
Stars Gerard Depardieu and Jean Reno.
