Witnesses invite all to “Keep on the Watch!”

Witnesses invite all to “Keep on the Watch!”

AUCKLAND - A vigorous campaign has been launched inviting the public to hear what the Bible says about the future at an annual conference in Manukau City this year.

“Are you ready for the end of the world?” That’s the bold question being asked by Jehovah’s Witnesses on the cover of the printed invitation they are distributing in Auckland and Manukau in the lead up to the event.

Many people have different views about the end of the world, but Witnesses feel that what the Bible teaches on the matter is enlightening and meaningful. Program parts throughout the three-day event will highlight an analytical and reasonable - as opposed to a fanatical approach to the subject.

The theme of the event is ‘Keep on the Watch. This is based on several passages of the Bible, including Matthew 24:42 and Mark 13:37, where Jesus Christ instructed his followers to “keep on the watch.” How the Bible clarifies the meaning of those words for modern Bible readers will be the focus of the program.

The event will be held at the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre in Manukau City. The three-day event will begin Friday 4 September, at 9:20 a.m.

Admission to the convention is free, and no collections will be taken.
Locally, all of the area’s 23 Witness congregations will be supporting this concerted effort to increase awareness of the convention. An estimated 3,000 will come to TelstraClear over the weekend for the convention.

Witnesses anticipate an excellent turnout for the event. They look forward to welcoming many members of the community to the convention and believe that all who attend will benefit from the practical and timely information presented.
Throughout New Zealand, there will be 6 conventions in 4 cities. Worldwide, there are over 7,100,000 Witnesses in more than 103,000 congregations.
