International media head to NZ from far and wide

Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2009

This year the dots on the map are spread far and wide representing the contingent of V.I.D (Very Important Delegates who will be attending Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2009.  

As in previous years a key focus and growth area continues to be Asia with many of our top New Zealand designers already exporting to Japan, Singapore, China and other countries.

With over 15 years of experience Fashion Director of ACP Asia Sally Teo,is representingkey titles including  The Singapore Women’s Weekly, CLEO Magazine and Cosmopolitan magazine. Teo will be travelling to Auckland with colleague and expat Kiwi Bridget Hope who is now based at ACP Asia where she is Publishing Director.

Leading pop culture magazine NYLON  Japan is sending . Editor Yuka Sone who will spend the week with us keenly following collections which she will feature in her March issue.

Also from Japan is Joe K (Kazuaki) and Dan Bailey, the dynamic duo that make up one of the biggest blogs in Asia today - Tokyodandy.com. The website represents a blend of high-fashion, and street-fashion and has recent links to Vogue Hommes Japan, Marc Jacobs and Jeremy Scott.

Travelling the furthest to reach  Auckland this year is Kristopher Houser from British Vogue. Houser is a highly respected freelance fashion writer in the UK represents a number of UK and US fashion publications and websites.

If you recognise the name Natalie Smith it may be from her days working for local New Zealand publications Fashion Quarterly, Runway Reporter and Metro Magazine. Smith represents iconic Australian fashion magazine Russh and will also be posting daily blogs for Australian fashion blog www.thevine.com.au.

Kellie Alderman, the fashion and beauty editor of The Sunday Mail will be filing for a readership of  over million readers weekly in Queensland’s biggest-selling newspaper. Kellie has worked with some of the top names in the Australian fashion including Miranda Kerr, Catherine McNeil, Megan Gale and Jessica Mauboy.

Not many bloggers can boast 50,000 unique visitors per day! Teen writerRumi Neely has launched herself into the world of fashion as blogger of “Fashion Toast” which looks at trends and largely reflects Neely’s personal style setting. Rumi was recently the muse for Emmanuel Ungaro at Paris Fashion Week and has also collaborated on a collection with fashion label RVCA.
 
Linlee Allen is a freelance photojournalist based in Los Angeles specializing in fashion, art and film. Allen will be checking out ANZFW for the first time and representing www.style.com, Purple Diary and V magazine, along with her own website - Delinlee Delovely.

Yale Breslin (AKA The Malcolm) www.themalcolm.com joins us from Toronto where he’s based as a freelance fashion writer contributing to a long list of Canadian and US publications such as We Are The Market, JC Report, StyleCaster.com, The Fashionisto.com, Wonderland Magazine, Dejour Magazine and Paper Online.
