Wellington artist and photographer Angelina Lee’s latest exhibition of abstract artworks opens on Wednesday the 14th of October at Pixel Ink Gallery.
The exhibition titled Untilted features a series of oil paintings influenced by Lee’s on-going interest in Eastern philosophy, universal symbols and physics.
“I’m interested in the unseen – the sub-conscious and the sub-atomic,” says Lee.
Lee’s work is not intended to be highly conceptual, “I like to let my paintings speak for themselves,” she says.
Preferring not to discuss her artwork in detail, Lee invites the viewer to contemplate the works for a while and find your own meaning.
Lee has exhibited in New Zealand and Japan. Her paintings are held in private collections in the United Kingdom, France, Australia and New Zealand.
Pixel Ink Gallery director, Rosalind Clark said that Untilted will be the first solo exhibition of abstract paintings held at the gallery.
The exhibition follows Lee’s Windows exhibition held earlier this year.
