Winds Blowing Local Music
The Auckland Wind
Orchestra is very proud to be presenting six local Auckland
composers in their "North Winds, South Winds" concert, on
October 18th at the Aotea Chapel, Queen Street, Auckland.
The concert, dubbed as “selections from New Zealand's finest wind music”, features Auckland composers prominently, including two world premieres of “The Pensieve” by Zyia-Li Teh and “Rotorua” by Phillip Anderson.
The concert is conducted by North Shore composer, Ryan Youens, who also has a work in the concert.
The Auckland composers and their works are:

The orchestra welcomes the Auckland community to come and share in what will be an enjoyable afternoon of fine New Zealand wind music.
THE CONCERT
The
concert is at 3pm, Sunday 18th October, 2009. Aotea Chapel,
Auckland Methodist Mission (opposite the Town Hall), 370
Queen Street, Auckland. $15 waged, $10 unwaged (door sales
only).
THE ORCHESTRA
The Auckland Wind Orchestra
aims to be New Zealand's finest community wind ensemble. We
regularly stage concerts in the Auckland region, performing
a broad range of musical styles to a wide audience. Our
players come from all walks of life, united by the desire to
have fun while making great music.
