Calling all bright sparks, smart arses, clever clogs, wise heads, whizz kids and outright creative geniuses. It’s time to enter…
METRO’S BEST OF AUCKLAND COVER CONTEST 2009

Think you’ve got what it takes to design a knockout Metro cover? Here’s your chance: Metro is inviting top creatives and graphic designers from a variety of fields and backgrounds to try their hand at designing a cover for the magazine’s annual Best of Auckland issue.

As in 2008’s inaugural Best of Auckland Cover Contest, the winning entry will be the cover of the December magazine while the work of a runner-up and finalists will be displayed in a special feature inside the magazine.

Last year’s winning entry was by Huffer, the runner-up came from Colenso BBDO and the finalists were from Saatchi & Saatchi, Y&R, TBWA\Whybin and Draft FCB.

“We were stoked with the response to our cover contest last year,” says Metro editor Bevan Rapson. “We can’t wait to see what some of the city’s best creative talent come up with this time around.”

The issue is typically a top seller for Metro so the cover has to have a clear Best of Auckland coverline. “Other than that, we’re wide open to great ideas,” says Rapson.

Metro will work with the successful entrant/s to complete the cover to the highest possible standard.

Designers and creative teams are invited to register their interest by an email to metro@acpmagazines.co.nz with “cover contest” in the subject line. We’ll supply cover dimensions and other technical details.

Entries close on October 30.
