Big Wednesday Dreams Come True For Auckland Player

Media Release 7 October 2009

Big Wednesday Dreams Come True For Auckland Player

The dream of living Big Wednesday’s ultimate lifestyle has come true for a player in Auckland tonight after winning a Big Wednesday First Division prize package worth more than $6.4 million, says NZ Lotteries’ Chief Executive, Todd McLeay.

The winning ticket was sold at Amigo Paper Power and Lotto in Auckland.

“Tonight’s winner has won a prize package worth $6,482,271 million, consisting of $4.7 million cash, a luxury Audi R8, a Porsche Cayenne, an American Express Platinum card loaded with $250,000, a $250,000 cash prize towards a luxury travel package, a Four Winns V258 boat, and $750,000 cash towards a bach.

“This Auckland winner is the fourth player to hit the Big Wednesday ‘big time’ this year and they join the elite group of New Zealanders who are now living the ultimate lifestyle thanks to winning Big Wednesday First Division,” Mr McLeay says.

Another lucky player from Papakura has won $25,000 in Big Wednesday’s Second Chance draw. The winning ticket was sold at Caltex Karaka in Papakura and the serial number is 500-53995285-13XX.

Every ticket bought for this Wednesday’s draw was entered in the Second Chance draw. The prize won was determined by the H or T selection on the first line of the ticket. As the ticket selection did not match the coin toss in the draw, the ticket holder has won $25,000.

“Anyone who bought a ticket at these winning retailers should check it immediately and write their name on the back of the ticket. If they are our big winner, please contact us at NZ Lotteries and we can advise them on the next steps to take," says Mr McLeay.
