‘Charting the Future’ is just three weeks away
DATE: THURSDAY 26 - FRIDAY 27 NOVEMBER 2009
VENUE: TE
PAPA, WELLINGTON
The New Zealand Water Safety
Conference ‘Charting the Future’ is just three weeks
away, but there is still time to register!
The conference programme is full of informed, inspirational speakers, but the social and network opportunities offered are also a huge attraction.
Welcoming drinks will be held at the conference venue, Te Papa, between 5.00 – 6.30pm on Wednesday 25 November. The following night, Thursday 26 November, the RFD Gala Dinner takes place at Te Papa’s Icon restaurant (semi-formal dress please). At this event, the winners of the inaugural Water Safety Awards will be announced. We warmly invite all nominees to attend and help celebrate those who have achieved excellent standards and success within the industry.
We are thrilled to announce that Ralph Goto, Administrator of Honolulu’s Ocean Safety and Lifeguard Services Division, will be speaking at RFD Gala Dinner. Ralph is an experienced, enthusiastic and entertaining speaker who is sure to inform and enthral guests. He will be sharing some of the lessons and solutions he’s picked up during three decades of lifeguarding in Hawaii. As a major tourist destination, Ralph’s team of 155 employed and 60 -70 volunteer lifeguards keep watch over seven million holiday makers (plus locals) every year. Managing that many people, at potentially dangerous beaches is no mean feat, but Ralph’s innovative life saving technology has helped build awareness of beach safety and enabled more effective rescues.
This is a rare visit down-under from an internationally renowned water safety expert and we are proud to have him here in New Zealand. You do not want to miss this opportunity to hear from this Hawaiian legend!
The dinner is included in the full conference registration and a limited number of additional dinner tickets are available for $120pp. Be quick for this! Dinner registrations close Thursday 19 November - space is restricted and you’ll be disappointed if you miss out.
