Le'o 'o e Kalifanafana (Tongan) : Thu 9-10pm


A programme set up from a desire for pacific communities to take up ownership and leadership of the poor outcomes of Pacific peoples in the areas of education, health and crime. This week Tae catches up with Jonathan Capal who is leading the Send Money Pacific project. sendmoneypacific.org is a recent website set up because transfers to the Pacific Islands are among the most expensive in the world, and users want more transparency which will drop those costs.

An award winning programme about Wellington songwriters presented by Terry Shore. This week Terry catches up with Lee Martin. He’ll chat about his unusual original sound which incorporates acoustic guitar and digeridoo. He’ll also play a live set.

EarthSounZ On Access (English) : Sat 6-7pm


EarthSounZ On Access offers interviews and music from diverse cultures: mainstream, traditional and experimental. Presented by Eric Hathaway, the show will draw upon the voices and talents of musicians from New Zealand’s ethnic communities whether they be European, African, Pacific, Asian or from the Americas. Eric is keen to hear from local musicians who want to bring their music to a wider audience in both performance and interviews. This week Eric features music from West Africa and a short interview with Rokia Traore.
