Tonight: Dion Tuuta has spent 10 years working in the corporate world and raising his family in Wellington, but regular visits to Taranaki for Treaty work have made his urge to go home stronger than ever. When a one-year contract comes up, he and his family pack up and make the big move.

Series finale! A series of iwi profiles, exploring the origins and futures of some iwi throughout Aotearoa. Last week, presenter Eruera Tarena explored the origins of his iwi, Ngai Tahu. Tonight the focus is iwi identity, from initial point of contact with Pakeha to the present day. Featuring Hana O’Regan, Tahu Potiki, Sir Tipene O’Regan and Dr Te Maire Tau.

Powerful indigenous environmental film examines the issues surrounding the toxic pollution of the largest body of fresh water in Northland, and the devastating effects on downstream communities.

Pilot finale! A look at the news and who makes it. Tonight: Prime Minister John Key joins top broadcaster Willie Jackson for a special end-of-year programme, looking back on the biggest, the funniest and the most moving stories of 2009. Marking his own first year in power, and a momentous year both here and overseas, John Key discusses his first year as Prime Minister, from the inauguration of Barack Obama to managing a coalition government at home. The show will also look at some of the other stories that got New Zealand talking –the death of Michael Jackson, the Susan Boyle phenomenon, the All Whites World Cup triumph as well as the Samoan tsunami tragedy and the death of Sir Howard Morrison.

ITI POUNAMU – Tuesday December 29 at 10.00 PM
A series of New Zealand short films, news and interviews presented by Ainsley Gardiner and Tearepa Kahi. Tonight: ‘Bridge’ by Jochen Fitzherbert. A woman finds herself alone after dark, waiting for a train. A stranger begins to give chase. She slips and passes out, and when she comes to finds the tables have turned.

E TU KAHIKATEA – Wednesday December 30 at 9.30 PM
Profiles of Maori leaders who have challenged and inspired their people and the nation. Tonight: Sir Tipene O’Regan discusses the malice directed towards his family, and the shenanigans of politics.

TE RANGIMARIE – MIKE KING TALKS WITH THE DALAI LAMA – Thursday December 31 at 10.00 PM
Is there a pathway to the peaceful mind? Who better to ask than the Dalai Lama, and who better to put the question than Mike King, a comedian and social commentator tormented by such questions for more than 30 years. Some final words of wisdom and inspiration for those new year’s resolutions.

FREESTYLE – Friday January 1 at 8.30 PM
Series finale! The fashion show that encourages viewers to embrace their own unique sense of style, with hosts Te Kohe Tuhaka and Veeshayne Patuwai and Koha Alpass-Waru. Tonight: A look back at some DIY design projects, and most dramatic ‘make me over’ transformations of the series.
