Skycity Queenstown Casino Celebrates Lucky Number Nine

SKYCITY Queenstown Casino turns nine this coming Monday (December 7) and is celebrating with a series of number nine focused specials including a $999 cash prize for one lucky person. The celebrations are designed to thank the Queenstown community for its support over the past nine years.

Established in Queenstown in 2000, the Casino including Wild Thyme Bar and Restaurant has become a leading entertainment destination extending beyond gaming activity.

SKYCITY Queenstown Executive Manager Michelle Baillie says the company is a proud member of the community employing over seventy staff (including three founding staff members) and has a track record of supporting community activity and a range of popular community events.

“SKYCITY is well known to the community through its SKYCITY Queenstown Casino Community Trust which has contributed more than $800,000 to over 200 community initiatives over the years. We are delighted with the work of the Trust and look forward to a long continuing relationship that serves to help the people and projects that need support.”

SKYCITY Queenstown Casino is also a strong and vital supporter of several events.

“We have helped with the Queenstown Winter Festival as a sponsor and as a venue for all the years of our operation in Queenstown and are also proud supporters of the ASB Jazzfest and Rugby Sevens,” says Ms Baillie. “We are an entertainment venue with free live entertainment every weekend and we always enjoy the part we play in community entertainment by supporting these fabulous events which rely on the help of local businesses.”

To celebrate its ninth birthday, SKYCITY Queenstown Casino invites Queenstown people to enjoy a slice of birthday cake as well as $9 food and beverage specials including $9 lunch and two glasses of bubbles for $9. The big celebration will be at 9pm where one lucky person will win the draw to win $999 cash!
