Tanner Shares Her Experiences at Triathlon Intro Night

Olympic Triathlete Debbie Tanner will headline a Triathlon Intro Night this Wednesday at the Takapuna Boating Club. The event is hosted by Triathlon New Zealand to encourage people into the sport or simply to answer any questions that participants might have about the country’s fastest growing sport.*

The Intro Night is tied into the Contact Tri Series with events throughout the country each summer, from Timaru in the South to Takapuna in the North. Takapuna hosts a round of the Contact Tri Series on Sunday February 21st and with full road closure and live television, entries are filling quickly. Information on the Takapuna race options including course maps will be available on Wednesday evening.

The Intro Night will also be a perfect chance for people and families considering entering the Whangamata round of the Contact Tri Series to find out more about this January 3rd event. Options on the day at Whangamata include the new children’s Contact 1:2:1, Contact 3:9:3 and Contact Trophy Races with maps and information about all events on hand this Wednesday.

The Intro Night will feature advice from coaches and staff from Tri NZ as well as a presentation and Q&A with Tanner. Tanner finished 10th at the Beijing Olympics and will speak about her experiences in the sport but will also have advice for first timers or beginner triathletes, tips that are sure to help enjoy the event and the day that little bit more.
