Toy For A Ticket Screenings
SKYCITY Cinemas are offering Auckland movie goers’ free admission to special screenings of Pixar’s UP, when they swap a toy for a ticket for the City Mission Christmas Toy Appeal.
By donating a brand new toy customers can receive a free ticket to one of the four screenings taking place at SKYCITY Cinemas on Monday 14 December at 6pm. SKYCITY Cinema Auckland locations include Newmarket, WestCity, Manukau, Highland Park and Albany.
On Christmas Day alone this year Auckland City Mission needs 3000 balloons, 2500 Christmas crackers and 2000 Christmas presents over and above the community distribution. Toys can be exchanged for tickets in cinema from today and to further assist the City Mission, people are asked not to wrap the toys.
“We encourage every Aucklander to share just a little of what they have to help make Christmas happen, and SKYCITY Cinemas have helped to make that sharing fun. We’re very grateful for their support” said Auckland City Mission Christmas Gift Coordinator, Sophia Beaton.
‘Over the past 3
weeks, the Auckland City Mission has distributed over 4,000
gifts to community groups throughout the region. With
Christmas Day fast approaching thousands more toys are still
needed to ensure every Auckland child experiences the joy of
opening a present on Christmas day’, she said.
SKYCITY Cinemas, General Manager Jane Hastings said, “SKYCITY Cinemas are delighted to be supporting the City Mission with this initiative and hope the community support enhancing Christmas for these children.”
UP is the story of Carl Fredricksen a seventy-something hero, who one day attaches a whole lot of balloons to his house and takes flight. Along for the ride is a young clueless boy scout. Together they travel to South America to search for a legendary waterfall as their adventure takes place a friendship is made.
