FOURPLAY: Four Tasty Comic and Dramatic Bites
THE FORGE AT THE COURT THEATRE: MEDIA RELEASE - FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
FOURPLAY: Four Tasty Comic and Dramatic Bites brought to you from the Young Playwrights Initiative in The Forge at The Court Theatre.
Every Sunday for the past eight weeks, four young playwrights and two keen young directors have met at The Court Theatre, with input from seasoned professionals, to create four short pieces ready to present to an audience. Next Tuesday and Wednesday, these will be presented in a showcase entitled FOURPLAY.
Plays featured:
The Cut by Georgia-Kate Heard
"The chicken,
the egg or the test tube?" After a reproduction
introduction in the waiting room of a fertility clinic, Jane
and John come out with more than they had bargained
for.
The Art of Letting Go by Matt Powell.
At the
opening of Jamie's sell-out exhibition, an old flame makes a
fiery entrance back into his life.
Cursed by Bigfoot by
Andrew Todd
The Eskimos call him "Bushman"; the Colville
Indians call him "Sasquatch"; the Hoopas call him "Oma". But
right now, let's just call him "Bigfoot".

What makes us do the things we do? What makes us
say the things we say? What makes us feel the things we
feel? Combining text, sound and movement, the delicate
pursuit for answers begins.
Directors: Dan Bain & Lisa Norriss
After the four readings, the audience is
invited to join a brief forum about their taste
experience.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of developing theatre in Christchurch.
