A Very Merry Scriptless

The Court Theatre: Media Release – for Immediate Release

A Very Merry Scriptless

The Court Jesters’ improvised comedy show A VERY MERRY SCRIPTLESS will enjoy an extra show at 6pm on Saturday December 19th due to popular demand.

The improvised comedy show – now in its fourth season – is “family friendly festive fun” suitable for all ages. In this year’s offering four Jesters perform the nativity story using audience suggestions to take “the greatest story ever told” in strange and amusing new directions.

Ticket sales have been outstanding and a 6pm performance has been added to the final night of the season of A VERY MERRY SCRIPTLESS to accommodate demand.

The last SCARED SCRIPTLESS of 2009 also falls on Saturday December 19th, meaning a very busy night for the Court Jesters in A VERY MERRY SCRIPTLESS with performances at 6pm, 8pm and 10pm. The improvisers are looking forward to doing three shows in a row - “but to be safe we’ll be drinking plenty of coffee beforehand”, says cast member Jeff Clark.

This caps off a phenomenal year for the Court Jesters that has seen the company set new records for corporate entertainment bookings (with 125 “gigs” over 2009 – almost 40 in December alone) and attendances at their weekly improvised comedy show SCARED SCRIPTLESS, adding a Saturday show due to audience demand. SCARED SCRIPTLESS will enjoy its twentieth year in 2010, cementing its title as the “longest-running improvised comedy show in New Zealand”.

A VERY MERRY SCRIPTLESS: 8pm Thursday/Friday 17th / 18th December; 6pm & 8pm Saturday 19th December. All Tickets $15.

SCARED SCRIPTLESS: final shows of 2009 10pm Friday and Saturday 18th / 19th December. Tickets $12 / $15. Performances resume 8th January 2010.
