Comedy Central – not just a load of old "Tosh"

MEDIA RELEASE:

Comedy Central – not just a load of old “Tosh”

COMEDY CENTRAL JANUARY 2010

AUCKLAND, Friday 19th December, 2009 – The world wide web; vast landscapes of cyberspace which today’s society has not only become reliant on but has honed and tailored to suit the needs of virtually everyone – be it emailing, sharing documents, giving their opinion on anything and everything and, in some cases, showing us videos of monkeys doing things you’d childishly laugh about in the Zoo.

With his razor sharp wit and biting commentary, comedian Daniel Tosh collates together the incredibly clever and sometimes ludicrously absurd portions of the Internet in Tosh.0, a Comedy Central exclusive. With highlights such as “viral videos of the week”, various tweet-wars between celebs and gossip columnists alike and some well-known faces in the entertainment industry premiering their own videos, Tosh.0 acts as your homepage and search engine for the best, and worst of the Information Superhighway.

The Hammersmith Apollo in London is hallowed ground for comedians; you know you’ve reached the big leagues when you’re asked to perform there. Live At The Apollo, another Comedy Central exclusive, features a who’s who of comedic greats who have graced the halls of the venue – acts such as Jack Dee, Joan Rivers, Patrick Kielty, Alan Carr and Jimmy Carr amongst others. Hosted each week by a different guest presenter, they perform alongside the crème de la crème of funny.

What’s your favorite Robot Chicken joke? Is it the horror movie character edition of “Big Brother” or perhaps “Worlds Greatest One Sided Fights”? Comedy Central NZ took creators Seth Green, Matthew Senreich and head writer Tom Root to task while they were visiting for Armageddon and got them to narrow it down to their personal top ten – giving viewers the scrumptious Chicken Nuggets: A Robot Chicken 10 Piece Pack – a Comedy Central exclusive. Ten of their favorite episodes seasoned with Comedy Central NZ’s sidesplitting herbs and spices and wrapped up in one tasty pack! You can’t beat that taste!

After making financial sacrifices to produce the movie they’ve wanted to work on for a while, Medellin, Vince and Eric approach auteur Billy Walsh to direct their movie on a shoestring budget – something Walsh is synonymous with accomplishing. However, will Billy’s erratic and irrational on-set behavior be too much to see the boys’ dream feature come to life? Will their artistic vision be praised or booed as it rolls into cinemas? Along with the rest of his Entourage, Vince is finding Hollywood’s fast-lane lifestyle an intoxicating ride… but as he this time had a little too much?

For all the guys out there, January on Comedy Central gives you a chance to hang out with your junk (almost) out. Balls Out, every Monday night from 7:30pm, gives the male of the species a chance to let their inner-child run free with back-to-back episodes of some of the funniest, downright stupid and incredibly politically incorrect comedies on television. Tosh.0; the lovable, if not down right idiotic Jackass; the highly celebrated and at times racially charged Chris Rock Show; Free Radio’s moronic intern-come-shock jock Lance; the always enviable lives of the Entourage boys; courier company hi-jinks with Swift & Shift and the absurd Trailer Park Boys. Definitely not a line up you’d associate with a Sensitive New Age Guy. Go on – do something for YOUR boys!
