Wellington Firebirds to play Canterbury Wizards

Wellington Firebirds squad to play Canterbury Wizards in the HRV Cup 6 January 2010

This Wednesday Wellington will play their first home HRV Cup Twenty20 match at the Allied Nationwide Finance Basin Reserve. The early matches in the series have been played in front of excellent crowds around the country and have produced action packed cricket.

Cricket Wellington Chief Executive Gavin Larsen said that this season’s domestic Twenty20 competition is shaping as a brilliant series of matches, “With all the BLACKCAPS on show, alongside a number of overseas stars top quality entertainment is guaranteed.”

“I’ve been impressed with the matches to date and the large crowds have proven how popular and entertaining this form of cricket is to the public.”

“I’m sure the Wellington public will get in behind the Firebirds and I urge fans to get to the ground early to ensure a great spot on the Basin bank.”


The Wellington Firebirds squad to play the Canterbury Wizards in their second match of the 2009/10 HRV Cup at the Allied Nationwide Finance Basin Reserve on Wednesday 6 January 2010 is:
