Vincent Duncan

Date: 21 – 30 January 2010

WHERE: ROAR! gallery
55 Abel Smith St
Level 1 (above Real Groovy)
WELLINGTON

Vincent Duncan is a well known self-taught artist whose colourful, expressive artworks depict the landscape and pulse of the Wellington cityscape surrounding him.

Slices of Wellington will delight visitors to ROAR! gallery as it showcases Vincent’s iconic vibrant style and imagery in a broad range of new works.

Images of boats, flowers, and Wellington suburbs are lovingly conveyed with many layers of thick and textural oil paint. Vincent uses vivid colours and creates a sensory engagement with his canvases which are familiar, idyllic and expressive. He recreates a new world for himself when he paints, “my perspective is based on feeling rather than on reality or precise technical application. The results can often be quite funny and symbolic” says Vincent.

Slices of Wellington – by Vincent Duncan will run from Thursday 21st – 30th Jan 2010.
