“Save the Children - Haiti”

New Zealand musicians will perform in a musical extravaganza, “Save the Children - Haiti” at Auckland’s Powerstation on Saturday 30 January 2010 to raise money for Save the Children’s Haiti Emergency Appeal.

Kicking off at 7.30pm, “Save the Children – Haiti” will feature a stellar line up of local acts such as King Kapisi, Hot Grits, DLT, Manual Bundy, Roger Perry, Coast, Slave, the Brazilian Divas and the Carribeanz Southern Stars Steel band with more names to be announced.

Tickets are $20 through Ticketmaster and on the door.

“We are incredibly grateful that everyone has come together to make this benefit concert happen. The money raised will go directly to Haiti for immediate emergency supplies as well as the long term recovery effort. We are committed to addressing the immediate needs of children and families and making sure they have a brighter futue ahead, said Save the Children Chief Executive Liz Gibbs.

Save The Children has over 200 staff on the ground in Haiti, with the priority of saving children’s lives by distributing emergency aid, including food and medical supplies and field hospitals to provide children and families with life-saving assistance. The agency is setting up spaces where children are protected from abuse, exploitation, and family separation and are able to access safe and quality education.

Musicians, Performers, Ticketmaster and the Powerstation have donated their services free of charge and all money raised with go to Save the Children’s Haiti emergency appeal.
