Richardson Truck Museum open night for fundraiser
The recipe books have already sold out so the team at SBS Bank is planning its next fundraising project in readiness for the Cancer Society’s Invercargill Relay for Life next month.
Avid sponsors and participants of the Cancer Society Relay for Life, the team at SBS Bank has sold 200 recipe books, featuring some family favourites from staff members, and they are now selling tickets for an open night they are holding at the Bill Richardson Truck Museum later this month.
SBS Bank senior investment consultant Iain Walker said all proceeds from both fundraisers were going to the Cancer Society.
“We’re really excited to be on board
with the Relay for Life again this year, particularly with
it being 10 years of Relay for Life in New Zealand.
“As
New Zealand’s only customer-owned bank, we’ve got a real
commitment and passion about supporting our communities and
the community celebration and comradery that the Relay for
Life events evoke is totally in line with our values at SBS
Bank,” Mr Walker said.
“At SBS Bank we also believe that community sponsorship doesn’t stop there – it’s totally about rolling up our sleeves and getting stuck in and that’s why we are all ready and raring to lap the track at Rugby Park when the event is held on March 6 and 7.”
Mr Walker said in the meantime, people who may not
be part of a workplace team or community group that was
directly involved with this year’s Relay for Life, could
show their support by getting their tickets to attend the
Bill Richardson Truck Museum Open Night, being hosted by SBS
Bank on Wednesday 24 February.
“Bill was a great
Southland icon and his collection of more than 170 vehicles
and associated memorabilia really does make for a great
family night out. There will be plenty to see and admire at
the open night and it is all for an extremely worthwhile
cause so we’d love to see a full house.”
Tickets are limited to 500 and are available from the Invercargill, Windsor and Gore branches of SBS Bank and are $15 for adults and $2 for children under 13. The open night on 24 February will kick off from 6.30pm.
