Help For Haiti Fundraising Concert - Wellington

Help For Haiti Fundraising Concert - Wellington

Some of New Zealand’s hottest musicians have teamed up to try to raise funds for the survivors of the Haiti earthquake. Help for Haiti will be held on Thursday 18 March at the San Francisco Bathhouse with 100% of the door sales going direct to Save the Children Haiti Appeal.

The line up is huge! In a rare treat Little Bushman will wow the crowd with their psychedelic rock sounds that has made their live shows so memorable.

Warren Maxwell from Little Bushman is excited about the gig saying…” The response was immediate when we received the invitation to play for the Haiti Benefit concert. Haiti definitely needs a lot of help right now and its nice to know that with all the global and political debate out there, that humanity can still pull together when there is a catastrophe like this and put all that stuff aside. We're looking forward to a great night!"

There are six supporting acts at the event. Featuring Hikoikoi’s earthy roots, Harbour City Electrics soul driven funk and the emceeing magic of Olmecha the dance floor will definitely get going, this will be an epic night for Wellington. Djs Ricky Gooch and Mara TK join the line up and this together with the sweet soul of Hannah Howes, the soaring vocals of The Aviators, and the blues rock of The Thomas Oliver Band.

Save the Children has over 300 staff on the ground in Haiti working hard to deliver much needed emergency assistance.

“We have provided clean water, food and health care to 492,209 children and families but the children of Haiti still desperately need our support, especially with the upcoming rainy season. Poor sanitation and drainage and inadequate shelter can encourage the spread of disease so we are training health workers, treating diseases and building weather-resistant structures,” said Save the Children Chief Executive Liz Gibbs.

“It's fantastic to see Wellington musicians coming together to make this night happen for Haiti. The money raised will be used to help our emergency effort and to make sure children and their families have a brighter future.”

The first act goes on at 8pm with ticket sales only… so don’t miss out on the opportunity to hear seven acts in one epic night and Help Haiti in the process.
