Auckland Women Invited to Swap Suits for Goodwill

Auckland Women Invited to Swap Suits for Good Will

Auckland women are being invited to clean out their closets of quality work clothes to donate to not for profit organisation, Dress for Success Auckland, as part of Botany Town Centre and LynnMall Shopping Centre’s annual suit drive.

Dress for Success Auckland assists women in need returning to the work force by dressing them top-to-toe in donated work clothes for job interviews and training, helping to boost their self-esteem and independence.

Every woman who donates a work-ready piece of clothing will receive a gift from make-up brand Radiiessence, as well as the knowledge that their pre loved clothing will be the first step in the start of a successful working career for another Auckland woman.

Executive Manager of Dress for Success Auckland, Julie Mackey says the suit drive is the perfect excuse for women to give their wardrobe a makeover for a good cause.

“The suit drive is a great opportunity for women to clear out quality clothes that they no longer wear, and update their wardrobe with some new signature pieces,” says Julie.

“We’re raising a challenge to all Auckland women to take a look at their current work wardrobe and find at least one item to donate to Dress for Success Auckland.”

“From suits and shoes to bags and belts, every piece of clothing donated can be used to help put together a new outfit for the women who come to Dress for Success Auckland for assistance.”

Women can donate their clothing from now until the end of March at one of the designated collection points at the Botany Town Centre Visitor’s Centre, and the LynnMall Shopping Centre Information Kiosk.

Every year over 1,300 women walk through the doors of Dress for Success Auckland and leave with a new outfit and the tools for self sufficiency.
